A Note on Etching and Printing

Etched pieces can be personalized with the subject’s name.  Etched pieces are made one at a time and  require a darker color matte.  We can also include a date (birthday, wedding date, etc.) or a “from” line (“from Mom and Dad,” for example) or perhaps some other short text.  Below is a sample of etched text.

Printed pieces are beautiful too.  They involve putting ink on top of the matting.  Printed pieces cannot be personalized at this time.  Most pieces come in various matte colors, in 20 by 16 inch size and/or 10 by 8 inch size, and most can be purchased with or without a frame.  See specific pieces for size, availability and pricing.  Below is a sample of a printed piece with white ink on blue matte.

Frames are subject to availability.  In addition, there is a charge of $8.00 for shipping and handling of all unframed pieces, and $15.00 for all framed pieces.

A Note on Commissioned Pieces

Many people have contacted Daniel Mark Picture Poems and asked for a new, commissioned piece for specific people or causes or events.  We can do this.  These will take 6-8 weeks for delivery.  

To ensure a quality product, Daniel Mark Picture Poems works with you throughout the making of your commissioned piece to guarantee that you will love the poem and the final presentation. We simply ask you to provide some information–perhaps a theme you would like to be emphasized–as well as several photos that you might wish to be used on the presentation. You can email them to us. Ordinarily, we cannot include more than there photos in a piece, and often just one or two, depending upon space.  All commissioned pieces from Daniel Mark Picture Poems take some time to complete;  at times, we might go through 30 or more drafts to make it as good as it can be.  These are heirlooms, and we want to be as proud of the finished piece as we want you to be proud of it, and therefore the process cannot be rushed. 

Commissioned pieces start at $600.00, including the etching, matte and frame, and I ask for a non-refundable deposit of $300.00 to get started. The balance will be due on completion.  I do retain all copyrights, and reserve the right to use portions of the poem in other pieces at my discretion.
